Experience the Bvlgari Hotel Tokyo

Japan. The very word evokes a sense of wonder, doesn't it? My first journey there in 2019 was nothing short of transformative. It was a deep dive into a culture so rich and captivating, that it left an indelible mark on my soul. Returning this past Thanksgiving, I found myself falling in love all over again. If Japan isn't already on your travel list, it's time to add it. Trust me, this is a destination that will stay with you long after you've returned home.

But today, I want to focus on the Bvlgari Hotel Tokyo and why you should stay here when visiting Tokyo.

This mind-blowing hotel luxury hotel is located in the Yaesu District and occupies floors 40 through 45 of an ultra-skyscraper. It’s centrally located — directly across from the iconic red brick Tokyo Station and within walking distance to the Imperial Palace, Nihombashi, Marunouchi and Ginza. The views of Tokyo are incredible from any vantage point, and on clear days you can perfectly see Mount Fuji!

What immediately struck me were how elements of Bvlgari’s Italian heritage were beautifully interwoven with Japanese tradition. Upon arriving, you walk upon traditional Roman sanpietrino paving stones that line the street in front of the hotel, before entering the lobby where you walk across their glowing eight-point star that graces the vestibule of the 40th floor entrance. Eastern influence can be seen in the Japanese calligraphy art gracing the Suites, the hinoki wood bar at Sushi Hōseki and the zen garden on its terrace.

Accommodations:

They redefine luxury with their stunning 98 rooms and suites. Rooms start at 51 sqm (550 sqft) and suites begin at 75 sqm (800 sqft), and each room/suite has a panoramic views of Tokyo with spacious bathrooms that include a soaking tub, rain shower and separate room with a Toto toilet. The rooms seamlessly blend Italian elegance with Japanese craftsmanship, creating a truly unique ambiance. Every element is thoughtfully curated to produce a haven of sophistication and comfort that you will call home during your stay.

The Spa, Pools & Fitness:

  • The 25-meter indoor pool is ensconced in floor to ceiling glass windows, with breathtaking views of the skyline and chaise lounges scattered throughout for you to relax after a swim.

  • My personal favorite is their vitality pool, which is decorated with a mosaic inspired by fan-shaped Caracalla baths of ancient Rome. The mosaics truly sparkle in the light! A fitting tribute to Rome.

  • Their spa has nine treatment rooms, including two double-treatment rooms and a Spa Suite, with therapists who focus on the rejuvenation of mind, body and spirit. (Pro-tip: Request a late check-out and enjoy a massage before you depart on your long journey home.)

  • Male and female changing rooms/areas feature hot baths, sauna, steam room and Japanese showers for a touch of local culture. Augustinus Bader is their lovely signature product line.

  • Wonderful fitness center with new Technogym equipment. You can enjoy the views of Tokyo while you get in a workout.

Their dining options and bar not to be missed.

  • Il Ristorante - Niko Romito: Where Japanese design is met with contemporary authentic Italian cuisine. Dishes such as Antipasto all’Italiana and Cotoletta alla Milanese are a few highlights.

  • Sushi Hōseki: Hōseki is the Japanese word for jewel ― this traditional omakase experience is a temple devoted to the art of Japanese dining. With just eight seats, it is an impeccably-designed space that looks out onto a tiny zen garden. Be sure to pair one of their 20 different sake labels with your meal.

  • The Bvlgari Lounge: The perfect spot to enjoy light bites, Afternoon Tea or Chef’s famous Pasticceria.

  • The Bvlgari Bar: Ascend to the 45th floor and step into an enchanting oasis. The Bvlgari Hotel Tokyo's bar is a mesmerizing blend of Mediterranean charm and Tokyo's urban splendor. Sip their artistic and delicious cocktails, while gazing out at the glittering skyline.

    • (Spoiler alert: I may have lost track of time gazing at the exquisite mosaic that serves at the bar’s backdrop while enjoying a few of their signature Roasted Negronis.)

At the Bvlgari Hotel Tokyo, impeccable service isn't just a standard – it's an art form. The staff possesses an innate ability to anticipate your needs and provide personalized service that goes above and beyond. They've somehow managed to capture the essence of both Japanese and Italian hospitality, creating an atmosphere that is both refined and remarkably welcoming. Case in point: my husband's Leica camera charger unfortunately broke during our travels prior to arriving in Japan. I mentioned this to the concierge team and they had a brand new charger and battery waiting for us in our room. Talk about exceeding expectations! This level of proactive service truly sets the Bvlgari apart.
